A powerful message from Tanvi Choksi, the Chief Human Resources Officer, echoed the brand’s motto that ‘true inclusion goes beyond intent’. And that intent reflects in not only providing a remarkable guest experience but by building a unique ecosystem for women to thrive, grow and lead in functions that has traditionally been male dominated, they aspire is to reshape the future of hospitality.

If you are wondering only a set of operations are being run by women, then you guessed it wrong. Not just desk operations, security, engineering, food production, kitchen stewarding but operations like security, general technicians and even horticulture, roles than have been traditionally manned by men will be handled by women!

How to Reach?

Flight

The most time-efficient option (at least from Mumbai, Bengaluru and Pune), the flight to Dabolim Airport should be selected and not MOPA as Dabolim Airport is in the South.

Train

There are three railway stations which are Thivim, Madgaon and Vasco Da Gama, of which the Thivim is in the North and the latter two are the major stations of South Goa. A lot of Special express trains do not stop at Vasco Da Gama so you can alight at Madgoan which is closer to Colva. Book a cab and head to Acacia Palms Resort which is 20 minutes away.

Bus

If you are travelling from Pune or Mumbai you will find a lot of buses stopping at Madgaon Bus Stop. From there you can hail a cab for Acacia Palms Resort which is just 12 minutes away.

Drive

NH66 is the best option to consider while driving from Mumbai or Pune which should take you around 13 hours to reach. An hour more than it takes to reach North Goa.

When is the best time to visit?

Although Goa is now a destination that caters to tourists throughout the year but the best time to visit is still between October and March as the monsoon wanes and the winter slowly sets in. From June to October, overcast sky, heavy showers will accompany you everywhere and you are also forbidden to take a dip in the sea due to safety hazards.

Things to Do in Colva

There are lots of offbeat things to do in and around Colva in South Goa

  1. South Goa has some spectacular beaches with diverse landscape – some rocky, some virgin, some have backwaters, some are Olive Ridley nesting sites and some even experience bioluminescence! You can check the 11 extraordinary beaches of Goa.
  2. Kayak in Chapora River, Sylvan Siridao, and Palolem Beach.
  3. Be enraptured by the vestiges of heritage structures like Cabo De Rama Fort, where the tiny chapel inside still holds a Sunday mass.
  4. Eat smacking Goan local thalis servicing Saraswat Brahmin cuisine.
  5. Go for a fun dive or learn to Scuba dive at Dive Goa

If you are planning to travel to South Goa, the experiencing this unique undertaking is a must to pledge your support to sustainable and community tourism – two pillars that will help to uplift the local tourism responsibly.

SINCHITA

An advocate of conservation of ecologically fragile spaces and conscious travel, storytelling wasn't always Sinchita's goal. It started as an escape, turned into a calling and eventually spread its wings. A banking stint, a teaching tenure, an environmental thesis - a bit of everything, only to realize that she is her best when she travels, interacting with locals, curates itineraries and thread the contributions of every element in the larger scheme of things through words and visuals.
